Okay. Here's how the custom file service works:
We get a request through the custom file form. These get checked twice a week, Wednesdays and Sundays in the morning, or whenever we get a chance otherwise.
We talk about the file, Elena and I. We then decide anything that needs deciding, determine if we should increase or decrease the price, and plan the file. I script the file, if I think it's good. We do NOT record the file right then and there.
What we do is send a Paypal invoice to the email that's in the form entry sent to us. This invoice includes a link for the customer to pay for the file. When payment is complete, we record the file within 5 days. We then email a copy of the file (or a link to a megaupload, zvault, FTP, or similar hosting of the file). After 1 week, we take down the file, but we'll always put it back up if a customer asks. We also take the file and save it to our backups just in case a customer wants a copy in the far future.
But there's an important step in there, namely the invoice. If you don't receive the paypal request, or you don't pay it, we won't begin work on your file. We've got 3 outstanding custom file scripts just sitting on the desk because people have either failed to check their bulk email folder, put a fake email on the form, or didn't pay it when they saw it. If people have trouble paying through paypal, let us know, we also have Ejunkie and other means of receiving payment. If people want a sample of their product before full payment, we can do that too with one minute sample splices of the middle of the file.
I'm going to look into ways to make sure people know how they can pay for their files, including amending the custom files page tonight, but I wanted to put this up so that future forumgoers know the steps in the process, which are:
1)Fill out the form on the site.
2)Wait for a reply on Wednesday or Sunday.
3)We script the file then send an invoice.
4)You pay the invoice.
5)We send the file, and a link to the file, 5 days later.
Paying the invoice when you receive it, or telling us how we can help you pay, is how you get your file. We have 3 back custom orders. Anyone who's sent us a custom order, please email us at
Inquiries@SubliminallyYours.com so that we can re-send the invoice to you.
Subliminally Yours,
